On October 17, 2023, a joint workshop of the Czech Optical Cluster and Autocluster “Optics as HITECH” took place. The workshop was held on the grounds of the Moravian-Silesian Innovation Center (MSCI) in the modern Viva conference hall. The goal was to present optics as a modern and multidisciplinary field, to present the development and production possibilities of the cluster members and thus support new collaborations.

Almost 40 participants from companies and schools were first welcomed by the managers of the Czech optical cluster – Mgr. Petr Přikryl and Autoklastra – Ing. Libor Dobes. After that, Mr. Pavel Csank from the Moravian-Silesian Innovation Center took care of the opening remarks, who gave an interesting presentation about the possibilities of cooperation with MSIC.

Then it was time for a part of the lectures on Automotive Lighting Technology from the companies Forvia – Hella Autotechnik Nova s.r.o., Plastic Omnium Lighting and ZKW Automotive Engineering CZ s.r.o.

The next part of the workshop was devoted to the Trainee program at Hella Autotechnik Nova, Challenges and new trends in the automotive industry, Optics at VŠB-TU Ostrava and Laser cleaning in Automotive.

The workshop program ended with an excursion to the Autoklast laboratories, where three presenting companies working in the field of automotive lighting technology development demonstrated their products (Forvia – Hella, Plastic Omnium Lighting and ZKW Automotive Engineering), and the participants visited the premises of the IdeaHub, which is a shared development center , where mainly students work under the guidance of experienced staff.
