High-tech, high value-added products. This is what the upcoming acquisition of Meopta in Přerov is supposed to be in a nutshell. The global optics manufacturer will invest more than CZK 700 million in an operation focused on high-precision machining of components for the semiconductor industry and super-clean production of optical parts.
The construction part has already been completed, and workers are gradually installing technology in the halls. “We will start full operation in them in the first quarter of next year,” said Jan Vymazal, CEO of Meopta, which produces optical products for industrial, military and consumer use.
