On November 27, we concluded a strategic agreement on mutual cooperation with the Autoklastr. This represents another significant step towards strengthening collaboration. The memorandum aims to utilize the potential of both clusters’ members to support secondary education through creating conditions for professional internships, traineeships, and dual education. These activities target not only students and pupils but also schools and parents to develop awareness of technical education and career opportunities.
The importance of cooperation was emphasized by the executive manager of the Czech Optical Cluster, Petr Přikryl: “The cooperation between two significant clusters and sharing our experiences will enable the implementation of modern teaching methods, support for teachers in schools, and gaining up-to-date professional knowledge directly in companies. Specific initiatives include providing 20 sets of optical experiment kits to the lending system of the Fort Science in Olomouc. These tools make physics and technical education more entertaining and accessible for students.”
On behalf of the Autoklastr, executive director Libor Dobeš commented: “We greatly value the long-term cluster cooperation, which we confirmed today by signing the Memorandum of Cooperation with the Optical Cluster. We share a common interest in developing technical education and training school graduates who can glimpse into the practice of manufacturing companies during their studies, get inspired by cutting-edge technologies, and more easily adapt to the transition into new work roles after graduation. As an example of good practice, I can mention the output from the Erasmus project, in which we, together with Polish partners, developed a methodological manual for dual education with practical examples from companies and schools in the Czech Republic and Poland. Another example is the establishment and activities of the Moravian-Silesian Technology Academy (MTA), where we participate in preparing so-called Eduboxes for training students and secondary school teachers in various topics, mostly focused on the latest technologies in companies. The outputs from this Moravian-Silesian Region project will be freely distributable in other regions of the Czech Republic.”
The agreement was signed during the COC member meeting, which took place on November 27, 2024, at the Institute of Scientific Instruments of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Královopolská 147, Brno.
