Representatives of the members of the Czech Optical Cluster passed on their experience of cooperation in solving large research projects on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, in Olomouc as part of the last COC event this year. The workshop, entitled “Continuity of R&D cooperation with large projects”, was organized by the Czech Optical Cluster in the premises of the Regional Office of the Olomouc Region and was attended by representatives of project leaders from universities, the Academy of Sciences and business entities.
After an introductory speech by the chairman of the Czech Optical Cluster, Jiří Nuc, Jaroslav Řeháček from Palacký University in Olomouc spoke, evaluating the ending project of the Competence Center – Digital Optics Center, Erika Čvandová from the Institute of Instrumentation of the Academy of Sciences, which then provided the workshop participants with information about the ongoing project of the Center for Electron and Photon Optics (CEPO) from the program of the National Competence Centers. Ms. Erika Čvandová also presented the possibilities of continuing the project, either in the form of extending the existing solution or submitting a new application under the planned second call in the National Competence Center program in 2020. In the second part of the first block of lectures Mgr. Roman Burianec from the company Meopta – optika, s.r.o, Radek Jánský (ZEBR, sro), Petr Burian (Thermo – Fisher Scientific Brno, sro) and Jindřich Houžvička (CRYTUR, spol. s r.o), who evaluated the previous practical experience with solving CDO projects and NCK – CEPO, but also the possibility of further cooperation in this area from the perspective of business entities.
In the afternoon block of lectures, representatives of the Czech Optical Cluster Kamil Krč and Petr Přikryl presented the possibilities of further direction and preparation of follow-up projects in the field of R&D cooperation. After the block of presentations, a discussion of participants on the topic of other opportunities in the field of science and research followed.
